Position: Sales Manager/Business Development Manager

Location: Hybrid working, ideally within a commutable drive from Peterborough

Remuneration: c£90,000 – £100,000 + bonus + company benefits

As we embark on a significant phase of growth and global expansion, we are seeking a proactive and ambitious Business Development Manager to join our Sales team in the UK. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a business with immense growth potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new automation and technology solutions to enhance our portfolio and expand market share.
  • Developing and nurturing customer relationships.
  • Preparing and submitting quotations and tenders, from concept to completion.
  • Collaborating with various departments to understand and meet potential customer’s needs.
  • Contributing to project risk assessment and estimating associated costs.
  • Communicating with suppliers and exploring new technical partnerships.
  • Supporting Project Managers and the sales team during project changes and variations.
  • Analysing company data and building/updating a database of production rates, exchange rates, and prices.
  • Interacting with the Sales Team regarding client-based tasks and market information.

Key skills:

  • Qualification (Degree or HND) in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in Sales, Project Engineering, Project Costing, or Quoting (must have a strong commercial background).
  • Strong technical background, preferably with knowledge of warehouse automation systems.
  • Ability to understand drawings and bills of material (preferred).
  • Knowledge of a CRM or similar system.
  • Working understanding of ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project (desirable).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Site survey skills.
  • Effective communication and liaison skills with clients, suppliers, and internal departments, including Sales, Finance, Production, and Logistics.
