Production Planner


Position: Production Planner

Location: Walsall, Birmingham

Salary: Negotiable, between £20,000 – £26,000 depending on the level of experience

Overview:

In your role as the Production Planner you will have responsibility for generating the works orders necessary to fulfil customer’s demands for immediate and scheduled sales orders, as well as make-to-stock requirements. Tracks works orders and purchase orders, escalating to management when these are not meeting the necessary due dates. Maintains the scheduler system to ensure all departments have clear understanding of order due dates, including their impact on sales orders.

Key experience/skills for the Production Planner:

  • Intuition and logical thinking – someone who thinks out of the box and enjoys solving problems
  • Understanding and appreciation of production processes
  • Excellent IT, numeracy and analysis skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines
  • Minimum GCSE Level A-C, IVQ Technician certificate, BTec first certificate or equivalent NVQ level 2 qualification
  • Relevant A Level qualifications are preferred, or HND, BTec or equivalent NVQ qualifications.
  • Experience with production planning and MRP & scheduling systems
  • Strong proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office
  • Full training will be provided along with working through a personalised development plan

Advantageous experience:

  • Inputting and managing production master data
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
  • Understanding of ISO9001, IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001
