Business Development Manager


A Business Development Manager is required for a manufacturer of high quality, customisable, and bespoke, automated material handling solutions.

Key: Experience of solution sales and selling to system integrators, special purpose machinery manufacturers, bespoke machine builders, automation & robotics companies, conveyor & material handling businesses.

Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of: Technical Sales, Field Sales, Senior, Technical Sales Executive, Business Development Manager, Senior Sales Executive, Account Manager, Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, will be considered for this role.

Location: Home based, travel to customer sites/trade shows

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + bonus/commission, car & pension

We have an exciting Business Development Manager opportunity with a leading business specialising in the design and manufacture of material handling solutions. As the Business Development Manager, you will work as a key member of the UK & Ireland Sales Team, reporting to the Director. The primary objective of this role is to achieve profitable revenue growth for a portfolio of precision conveyance and linear motion products and systems.

Business Development Manager responsibilities to include:

  • Develop new business and maintain existing key accounts
  • Target machine builders, system integrators to sell the range of material handling solutions.
  • Provide a technical solution-based sales approach by understanding the customer need.
  • solutions are customisable and fully bespoke and there is a range of high-quality solutions at your disposal.
  • Works closely with the senior management team to help achieve the agreed objectives.
  • As the department grows, you may have the opportunity to start building a team.

The suitable candidate for Business Development Manager will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experienced working in a solution based technical sale role.
  • Have a proven track record in exceeding sales targets and generating revenue growth by maximising opportunities from existing customers and winning new business.
  • Display strong sales/business acumen.
  • Experience of working in or selling into Machinery Manufacturers, System Integrators, Intralogistics etc.
